Naval Career
6-13-42 – Commissioned as Ensign in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
6-15-42 – Reported to U.S. Naval Academy for Indoctrination as an Athletic Officer in the U.S. Navy Air Corps.
7-25-42 – Reported to Naval Air Station: St. Louis as an athletic and Military Training Officer.
3-1-44 – Reported to Naval Air Station Grosse Michigan as an Athletic Officer.
7-15-44 – Reported to Commander of Atlantic Air Fleet at Norfolk, VA for further assignment. Assigned to Blimp Heron Force in Brazil and the South Atlantic as an Athletic Recreation, and Survival Officer.
6-13-45 – Returned to United States and assigned to Commander Fleet Air Pacific. Served with Carrier Air Service Units Six and Sixty-Four.
12-25-45 – Released to Inactive Duty as a senior grade Lieutenant at Twelfth Naval District Headquarters, San Francisco, CA.
